Dr Emma says
"Kombucha is a fermented tea, and contains bacteria, making it a probiotic drink. Probiotics are ‘live bacteria’ in the kombucha and are thought to support a healthy gut microbiome. Importantly this kombucha does not contain sweeteners [unlike many others]. Studies have shown that sweeteners may disrupt the gut microbiome therefore drinking kombucha with sweetener may be counterproductive to support a healthy balance of gut bacteria."
